Family Devotional Ideas
Family devotional plans and ideas abound!
Where do you even begin?
I’m glad you asked.
Here are some of my favourites:
YouVersion Plans:
I love YouVersion plans because they are easily accessible on a computer, phone or tablet – and they’re completely free! Talk about convenient!
Learning Spiritual Disciplines
Jesus Centered Family Devotions
I Can Learn the Bible: The Joshua Code for Kids
- If you use the Bible App for Kids, YouVersion also has week-long plans that go along with each story in the app. Just punch “Bible App for Kids” into the search bar, and you’ll be able to find a ton of plans! These are great for smaller kids.
- If your kids are older (preteens or teenagers), choose a plan together and have each person subscribe to it on your device! Challenge them to read it each day, then during your devotional time, discuss what you learned together.

- I’ve written a one-hour long Family Devotional Experience to introduce your kids to reading the Bible! It’s designed for school-age kids and you can download it here.
- Focus on the Family offers a host of great family activities to introduce devotional times – or for a specific season (summer or Christmas). Check out their page here.
